A terraced house on the cliff between Portofino and Paraggi with a lift to a private sea platform and a boatman who takes you to dinner.
The house is cut into the cliff in four levels, the top one on the road, the bottom one on the sea. A lift joins them, and the sea platform at the base has a mooring for the tender and steps into water that is twelve metres deep. The pool is small and the sea is the point.
Five bedrooms, all with the water, a kitchen that has been run by the same cook for a decade, and a terrace under the pines where lunch takes three hours. Portofino is eight minutes on foot along the coast path or three by boat.
Because the house is old and steep it is not the right choice for very small children or anyone who does not manage stairs. For couples and grown families it is one of the finest houses on the Ligurian coast.
