Porto Cervo, Costa Smeralda
Villa Granito
A low house in the granite above the Pevero bay, in the Costa Smeralda style of the sixties, rebuilt to a standard the sixties never had, with a helipad and its own beach.
Granito was built on a hectare of pink rock above the Pevero and sits in it as if it had grown there, the roofs curving, the walls the colour of the stone. Inside it is contemporary and generous: eight bedrooms, a kitchen that seats twenty, a cinema, a gym and a spa, and terraces that step down to a beach reachable only from the house.
The staff of five are the reason families come back. The chef has run the kitchen for six seasons and provisions from Olbia market twice a week, and the house manager arranges the boat, the beach beds and the children’s week without being asked twice.
In August this is one of the most expensive weeks in the Mediterranean and worth it; in June and September it is the same house at a third of the price.
