The working coast
Cannes & Cap d’Antibes
Cannes for the Croisette, the festivals and the Îles de Lérins; Antibes for the cape, the old town and the biggest yacht harbour in Europe. Ten minutes apart, entirely different.
Côte d’Azur, France
Cannes is a city that knows how to host, which is why the film festival, the advertising festival and half the conferences of Europe come here. For members that means excellent hotels, a Croisette that works at seven in the morning as well as at midnight, and a harbour that berths anything. It also means we watch the fair calendar before we promise a suite.
The Cap d’Antibes is the other face: a pine-covered cape with the great hotels at its tip, private villas behind high walls, and a coast path that circles the whole thing in ninety minutes. The old town of Antibes has the Picasso museum, the market, and Port Vauban, where the largest yachts in the Mediterranean spend the winter.
The Îles de Lérins, fifteen minutes off Cannes by boat, are the place to send anyone who thinks the coast is only concrete: pines, a monastery that makes its own wine, and water clear enough to see the anchor.
